Calling all artists! Our 4th Annual Chalk Walk and Read-A-Thon is Saturday, September 26th, 2026. This fundraiser enables the Friends to support program funding at our tiny and mighty Gibsonville Public Library. Come spend a wonderful day creating art, reading books and having a great time in the community. Fun for the entire family. All artistic creations will be judged and prizes awarded for every age group in a friendly community competition.
Reserve your “canvas” today with a small donation of $10. Donation includes a 3’x5′ “canvas” or sidewalk space for your masterpiece. All sidewalk chalk has been provided courtesy of Frozen Pines Tattoo. Artists are welcome to bring their own chalk as long as it is washable and won’t stain the walking path.
Read-A-Thon Participants pledge to read for 30 minutes in exchange for donations from family and friends. A minimum of $10 sponsorship gives each Read-A-Thon participant a “canvas’ to create at the Chalk Walk. Reading may be completed prior to the event by logging your time on https://gibsonville-readsquared.com/ . Or come the day of the event, find a cozy spot to read with Amy the Librarian, then head to the walking path to create a masterpiece! The Read-A-Thon participant who raises the most sponsorship funds will win a special gift basket of prizes!
